Art by Jérôme BerthierUma Landsleds possibly one of the best things to come out post pandemic, with help from Evan Smith and his outragious creative mind Uma was born, attracting the likes of Maité and Cody chapman to help push the now cemented skate company to where it is.Jérôme Berthier is a French artist living in Vancouver, Canada. With a background in film and language, he creates intricate illustrations and sequential art with an emphasis on movement and symbolism. His fascination with psychology and spirituality inspires him to explore his own shadow in search of truths about purpose, fear, and growth, some of which is depicted in his new board series for Uma Landsleds. I really enjoyed the challenge of figuring out how to take one of my paintings and turn it into a sculptural object while still making it skateable if someone wanted to. After working out a few different versions over a few weeks, this was the one that really stood out.
